Marine Terrace

Set to activate quality development on Marine Terrace, Fremantle, this development comprises of three luxury apartments with two commercial tenancies at street level. Floor layouts focus on private spaces to the rear away from the street and an open plan living space adjacent to the street - with uninterrupted views of the Fishing Boat Harbour and Indian Ocean beyond. Outdoor living is located in the centre of the building and defines public and private zones. The development is characterised by a multi panelled entry screen, woven to interplay colour and form with privacy and ventilation. With a 3-storey limit and 12m height restriction the site's development potential was pushed to propose and have approved four stories in the 12m with the increase in sales return supporting a higher specification of fixtures and finishes. Council approved a proposed spot rezoning for this site on the basis that the development is characterised by an unprecedented degree of aesthetic sophistication that will stimulate new standards for building design in Fremantle. Derived from the palette of a port city, the signature element of the building is an oxidised copper shield - controlling afternoon heat loads and framing views from within. Central terraces condition the relationship between inside and out and allow the design to breathe freely.
